Reaction:

Movie really picks up about halfway through and isn’t all bad. At first I was annoyed about how this movie could possibly have been a follow up to the original which is actually a creepy and dark movie, thematically and visually. However, after the original stupid gags are over, there is some pretty clever stuff and a couple self-referential sendups that are funny. Phoebe Cates has by far the funniest moment when she mocks her shockingly sad Christmas anecdote from the original by going on a tangent about how she is scarred by Lincoln’s birthday because of an event that happened on that day. I love how the movie goes way out of its way to make this joke.

Another highlight is the Hulk Hogan appearance. I genuinely don’t get what was going on at the time that made this an important or clever piece to include in the movie, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Fun movie and I laughed.
