Reaction:

Holds up. It really does. I mean there are HUGE issues with this movie where men are forgiven for their affairs while women are blamed or short for everything. Robin Williams is just such a fuckign talented guy. And even in this C+ of a movie and toned down character, his greatness and his comedic genius can’t be tamped down. Tim Robbins starts off a bit caricature-y but ultimately has a decent return in this movie. It’s a fine movie with some actually funny scenes (this is sadly untrue in 95% of the ‘comedies’ I’ve watched so far.) It’s a little hard to enjoy a movie about a guy who seeks revenge by shooting a bunch of innocent or undeserving people with an automatic rifle. And I’m always a little sad about Robin Williams. But I enjoyed the movie almost as much as I ever did.
